Yeah, that nagging cough turned out to be the beginning stage of bronchitis, but went soon enough to the doc before it got worse XD But meh, the beat goes on, and I got a lot to get up to speed on! Onward and upwards!!!!!! *cough, cough*
Totally unrelated, but a friend on facebook said what was the worse movie he had ever seen. It made me think to which one was mine. I took into account not to include movies that are "so bad it's good" like The Room or Pumpkin, or movies that were just plain boring to me, and I hate to have to admit this, I actually kind of found Avengers: Age of Ultron kind of boring. I went for a movie that actually made me wish I had not seen it, and THAT is an achievement in and of itself, because I always try to take something positive or some entertainment value on what I decide to sit down and watch. So it boiled down to a tie:
The early 2000s Daredevil movie and the more recent Ricki and the Flash. The only 2 movies that I was actually physically, literally, angry that I watched that movie.
Daredevil was a rental back in the day because I kept hearing people saying "it was BETTER than Spider-Man!!!!" I was like "holy shit, BETTER!? Daredevil is my second favorite Marvel character and though I thought Matt Damon looked more like Matt Murdock, I'll check it out!" The girlfriend I had at the time hated it so much she didn't finish it while we were watching it. And when the credits finally ended, I noticed I had formed fists and was clenching my teeth. And it was the whole scene between Matt and Electra when he's trying to find out her name. That's when it lost me. No, not even the cheesy "you know what sound that is? JUSTICE!" line from earlier in the subway, it was...that scene. And Colin Farrell as Bullseye. I didn't mind Kingpin so much. So what do I do? Last month I bought the dvd, theatrical cut AND director's cut (which I've never seen), AND Electra (which I did see once. I liked it better than Daredevil. Jennifer Garner ). Why? Because the Netflix Daredevil series won't have season 3 until 2018 and I needed my fix. Yes, that purchase that day was me jonesing for Daredevil stuff. At least all three dvds came out to $8 for all three. That's how much I LOVE the Netflix Daredevil series (even if I dare say that they dropped the ball in season 2 with the Electra story arc. The Punisher story arc more than compensates for it, though).
Ricki and the Flash....oh. My. God. What a mess of a movie. I love Meryl Streep. From Kramer vs Kramer (an all-time fave of mine) to The Devil Wears Prada, I love her. She has her missteps now and then, but with the legendary career she's had, it can slide sometimes. But I think the ABBA fest Mama Mia! traumatized her as a singer. It was pretty...bad. Then she had singing coaching for Into The Woods (another movie that fell into the "I didn't hate it, just got bored" category) and she tries singing more old school rock in this one. I have to say, that was the WORST acting I EVER saw from her. The story was all over the place, the directing was all over the place, it's like they tried to cram 3 different movies into 1 and at some point the actors just gave up. I don't know who's fault this movie sucked so bad to me, all I know is that I got PISSED! LOL Even now I feel the anger welling up in my throat. Oh, sorry, that was just a cough from the bronchitis, moving on.
It's been a LONG time since I've written a journal like this. Feels kind of nice, actually. Thank you guys if any of you bothered reading all this nonsense. Catch you all next time!

Trying to reconnect with my roots
Hey everybody, keeping the streak alive lol Wait, did I post in May? Fuck. XD
Anyway, I switched day jobs and the transition has not been smooth lol But, now after training and the regular schedule has kicked in, I'm slowly starting to get back into the thick of things.
Recently, without giving too much away I guess, someone asked me why I didn't speak Spanish more and that I shouldn't be ashamed of who I am, to be with my roots. The thing is, English was my first language really and this stranger actually came off kind of condescending to me. This person doesn't know me nor my history, has never walked in my shoes, and instead of telling h
Focus
Hello, everybody!
I've been challenging myself to update at least a couple of times a month this year, so far so good :) I'm trying to be more focused with everything. I'm working on Warlord and the second Exorcist one-shot, while trying to get into the groove of continuing Clown since that's only a 4 chapter mini-series and I'm SO close to getting to the halfway point, I would LOVE for this year to finish chapter 25 of Warlord, release the second Exorcist one-shot, AND finish Clown. If I'm able to accomplish all three, things will roll out a LOT smoother.
I'm also trying to step up my game on Patreon, YouTube, and Instagram. I have quite a
15 Years a Deviant
Wow, so, 15 years already on DA!? They should reward me by making me a CORE member or something :XD:
I've been somewhat more active this year than the last few years, kind of hard to let this site go, despite 90% of the people that I used to interact with aren't here anymore.
I've been thinking about if it's worth doing commissions, something I've never really done. I've done some writing and color flats for friends, but I haven't really gone out there and set a commission set or anything like that. I have an Etsy and Patreon I barely even promote lol I guess I will little by little.
So far the Patreon I've put up free posts and will conti
RIP Christina Moran
The owner of the comic book shop I used to go to back in Puerto Rico, Metro Comics, has passed away.
It's surreal, not everybody knew she was sick. I found out about an hour before the official statement was made. She was a pilar in the comic book community in PR, and was one of the first back then to support indie PR comics and made events and signings for us.
Many comic shops have come and gone in PR, while Metro Comics is the constant, the bar that was set for other shops with her knowledge, kindness, and support for the community.
She will be missed, Rest In Power.
